Landlord/Tenant -- I am in need of legal form preparation for Magistrate Court in Forsyth county. On October 10th at 3:30PM, I filed an answer and counterclaim against my former landlord. The hearing was set for October 11 at 5:30PM. I have a post-marked envelope from the Clerk of Courts, Forsyth County as 10/11. My written notice was not even sent our until 10/11, the day I was supposed to be in court. Since mail is never delivered the same day that it is sent, I did not receive notice until the day after the assigned court date. The Magistrate issued a default to the landlord since I was not there. I need to file by Thursday 10/18, for 1. An appeal, 2. Motion to Set Aside Judgment. This is clearly a scheduling error and I would like my day in court.  Posted by: Aly B  (Wed. Oct, 17)

The girl's father, who pushed for the charges in the first place has agreed to have the charges reduced to a misdemeanor if my son agrees to relinquish parental rights. Is this legal? Also, my son's name is not on the birth certificate, but a paternity test shows him to be the father. Can his name be placed on the birth certificate? Thank you.  Posted by: Concerned  (Tue.
